The Captain Vincent Gann came to Aimex Service Group in December 2018 with a pre-planned schedule of works for a full and extensive refit. She sailed out of Port Nelson, on time, on budget and with very happy customers.
The following list of works is what was undertaken at the time:
Installed new zero fish well into forepeak unloading space
Full refit of 12 fish wells, removed old coils and fitted new stainless steel coils
Installed new refrigeration system – Three new receivers, new domestic chiller AC & number one well – Ammonia. New valve banks, new domestic chiller, new compressor pipework, new fish well suction & liquid lines and two new condensers
Rebuilt three shaft generators, rebuilt two Caterpillar generators 3412 & 3406
Rebuilt one Skiff engine Caterpillar 3412, one Skiff gearbox and rebuilt Skiff hull plating
Stripped and overhauled all booms, blocks and goosenecks
Replaced all hydraulic lines on booms with stainless steel lines
Replaced all plastic pipework in engine rooms with new
Mount and fitted new fuel purifier and mounted and fitted new oil water separator
Replaced all chilled water lines in wet deck and replaced all corroded frames in wet deck
Replaced all six sea strainers in bilge system and replaced damaged shell plating in hull
Fitted new main engine oil and water coolers with plate coolers
Replaced engine room ventilation system
Repaired all ventilation fans, replaced all fire pumps and pipework
Replaced all accommodation deck heads
Rebuilt Chief Engineers cabin, replaced companion way wall linings
Resealed all pilot house windows
Overhauled all steering gear , replace all hull & sea valves
Carried out repairs to rudder stock
Installed all new timber on deck
